Windlass Brake Cable 4mm Wire

Purpose-Engineered Brake Connection
Specifically specified for Lewmar® windlass assemblies, the 4 mm wire brake cable transmits controlled force between the brake control mechanism and the windlass brake system. This direct mechanical connection allows the brake to be applied progressively, enabling accurate load control when handling heavy ground tackle under tension.
Marine-Grade Wire Construction
Manufactured from durable, corrosion‑resistant marine‑grade wire, the brake cable is built to withstand the harsh marine environment, including saltwater exposure, humidity, and repeated mechanical loading. Its robust construction ensures consistent performance over time, even in high‑use anchoring systems on cruising and offshore yachts.
Reliable Performance Under Load
Designed to operate smoothly under high loads, the 4 mm brake cable maintains predictable response and positive feedback when engaging or releasing the windlass brake. This reliability contributes to safer anchoring manoeuvres, reduced wear on the windlass assembly, and improved confidence during heavy‑weather or high‑load anchoring scenarios.
Direct Replacement
The Lewmar® Windlass Brake Cable – 4 mm Wire is supplied as a genuine replacement component, ensuring correct fit, specification compliance, and seamless integration with compatible Lewmar® windlasses. Regular inspection and timely replacement of the brake cable help preserve windlass performance, safety, and long‑term operational integrity.
